Description
The ATSAM2533 is a low-cost derivative of the ATSAM97xx series, which is an integrated circuit chip in the product category of IC chips. It is designed with high-quality synthesis and up to 64 voices polyphony. The chip has a maximum wavetable memory of 32 Mbytes and uses a standard 8-bit port for parallel communication. With an integrated 32K x 16 RAM, the chip can deliver high-quality effects without requiring additional components. It incorporates a specialized high-performance RISC-based digital signal processor (DSP) and a general-purpose 16-bit CISC-based control processor on a single chip, combining a highly-integrated architecture. The synthesis/DSP and the control processor can share external ROM and/or RAM memory devices with the help of an on-chip memory management unit (MMU). An intelligent peripheral I/O interface function handles other I/O interfaces, such as the 8-bit parallel, on-chip MIDI UART, and the CODEC control interface while requiring minimum intervention from the control processor.
