Description
The CD4527BE is a low-power 4-bit digital rate multiplier that belongs to the category of special logic ICs. It is capable of providing an output pulse rate which is the clock input pulse rate multiplied by 1/10 times the BCD input. For example, when the BCD input is 8, there will be 8 output pulses for every 10 input pulses. This device can be used for various arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, division, raising to a power, as well as solving algebraic and differential equations. Additionally, it is useful for generating natural logarithms, trigonometric functions, A/D and D/A conversion, and frequency division.
Specifications and Features
The CD4527BE features a high voltage type (20V rating) and is cascaded in multiples of 4-bits. Its input and detect output can be set to "9". The device is 100% tested for quiescent current at 20V and has parametric ratings of 5V, 10V, and 15V. Furthermore, the maximum input current is 1µA at 18V over the full package temperature range and 100nA at 18V and +25°C. The CD4527BE also has a noise margin of 1V at VDD = 5V, 2V at VDD = 10V, and 2.5V at VDD = 15V. Lastly, this device has standardized symmetrical output characteristics and meets all requirements of JEDEC Tentative Standard No. 13B, “Standard Specifications for Description of ‘B’ Series CMOS Devices”.
