The Marvell Alaska family of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) transceivers, including the 88E1543-LKJ2 model, is known for its low power consumption, small form factor, high performance, and high port density. These transceivers are optimized for the mobile computing market and support 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T, and 10BASE-T Ethernet on category 5 (CAT 5) twisted pair cable, as well as 10BASE-T Ethernet on CAT 3, 4, and 5 cable. The 88E1543-LKJ2 model also offers additional support for 1000BASE-X through an integrated 1.25 GHz Serializer/Deserializer (SERDES).

Application Scenarios
The Marvell Alaska Ultra GbE transceiver, such as the 88E1543-LKJ2 model, is widely used in client applications, particularly Gigabit-connected laptop computers. The transceiver supports advanced power management modes, including Wake-on-LAN, and provides flexibility in media selection (copper or fiber). It also performs Auto-Negotiation and enables seamless plug-and-play configuration.
