The AHA4011B-040PJC is a single chip integrated circuit manufactured by Advanced Hardware Architectures, Inc. This IC implements a high-speed Reed-Solomon Forward Error Correction algorithm and is a member of the AHA PerFECマ family of high-speed FEC devices conforming to the Intelsat IESS-308 specification.
Specifications and features
- High performance: The polynomial of the AHA4011B-040PJC complies with Intelsat IESS-308, RTCA DO-217 Appendix F, Revision D, and proposed ITU-TS SG-18 (Formerly CCITT SG-18) standards. It has a 40 MBytes/sec burst transfer rate with a 40 MHz clock for all block lengths and a maximum channel rate of 10 MBytes/sec continuous for block lengths from 54 bytes through 255 bytes using a 40 MHz clock. The processing latency time is less than 15.2 µsec in continuous operation for block lengths of 100 bytes.
- Flexibility: The AHA4011B-040PJC is programmable to correct from 1 to 10 error bytes or 20 erasure bytes per block. The block lengths are programmable from 3 to 255 bytes. It has encode, decode, or pass-through capability inline with data flow and can output corrected data or correction vectors in forward or reverse order. It supports continuous or burst data transfer. Additionally, it has a programmable error threshold to help determine channel performance.
- System interface: The AHA4011B-040PJC has byte-wide synchronous I/O ports with internal buffering on both ports. It also has dedicated control pins that permit discontinuities in system data flow.
- Others: The AHA4011B-040PJC comes in a 44 pin PLCC package with a 50 mil lead pitch. It is pin and plug compatible with the lower performance AHA4012B model. Software emulation of the algorithm is also available.
