Description
The MC33887APVW is a monolithic H bridge power IC with load current feedback in 20 pin HSOP package. This device is an ideal choice for closed loop DC motor control. It incorporates internal control logic, charge pump, gate drive and low RDS(ON) MOSFET output circuitry. The MC33887APVW is able to control inductive loads with continuous DC load currents up to 5A and with peak current active limiting between 5.2A and 7.8A. The load current feedback function generates a proportionate (1/375th of the load current) continuous current output appropriate for monitoring through the A/D input of a microcontroller. This feature makes it easier to develop closed-loop torque/speed control and open load detection. Undervoltage, short circuit, and temperature problems are all reported via a fault status output pin.
