The EP16VA is a world class differential driver/receiver. The QHG and QHGbar outputs have several times higher DC gain than the EP16. Only the VBB pin, the internally generated supply voltage, is provided for this device. For single-ended inputs, an unused differential input is coupled to VBB as the switching reference voltage, and VBB also re-biases the AC-coupled input. When in use, the VBB and VCC are decoupled via a 0.01 ?F capacitor and the source/draw current is limited to 0.5 mA. When not in use, the VBB should be left open-circuited. Under open input conditions (pulled to VEE), internal input clamping will force the QHG output to go low. Special considerations must be made for differential inputs in no-signal conditions to prevent instability. 100 Series includes temperature compensation.
