The STMicroelectronics STCS05ADR is a low-power, low-cost voltage comparison IC designed to accurately determine the magnitude of two input signal voltages. Utilizing CMOS technology, the device features low operating power (<1mA quiescent current) and precise voltage comparison over a wide common mode voltage range (1.8V to 5.5V). The device can be configured to operate over several supply voltage ranges (2.7V to 5.5V and 3V to 5.5V). The STCS05ADR offers two types of outputs; an open drain output (active low) and a CMOS logic output (active high). The open drain output can be used to detect input voltages below or above a specified threshold, while the CMOS output can detect when one input voltage is greater than the other. The device has a hysteresis adjust terminal, which can be used to configure the hysteresis of the output for the open drain output. This feature makes the device more noise-immune in noisy environments. The STCS05ADR operates over a wide temperature range (-40°C to +125°C), making it suitable for automotive and industrial applications that require operation in severe temperature conditions. The IC features an overvoltage protection and internal ESD protection, which can be enabled/disabled via the OVPEN pin.
