The Texas Instruments MM5483N is a one-chip microcontroller-based motion control IC which combines the control logic, motion sensing, and motion control functions necessary for motor control applications into one integrated circuit. This device integrates a controller which supports Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and commutation signals, and an on-chip motion accelerator with linear acceleration/deceleration capability. It also provides motion control applications like Position Control, Encoderless Speed Control, Velocity Control, and Torque Control. The built-in motion accelerator and on- chip digital logic provide the necessary speed regulation, allowing for the simple adjustment of control on time and resolution for any given application. By providing adjustable control on time and resolution, the MM5483N enables the user to customize their required control output, and achieve the precision desired for each application. Additionally, the MM5483N is designed with a low power consumption of only 1.2mA, making it ideal for battery-operated products.
