Description

The ACPL-333J is an advanced 2.5 A output current, easy-to-use, intelligent gate driver designed for compact, affordable, and easy implementation of IGBT VCE fault protection. It features integrated VCE detection, under voltage lockout (UVLO), "soft" IGBT turn-off, isolated open collector fault feedback, active Miller clamping, and auto fault reset. These features provide maximum design flexibility and circuit protection. The ACPL-333J contains an AlGaAs LED that is optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage. It is ideally suited for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs used in motor control inverter applications. The voltage and current supplied by these optocouplers make them suitable for directly driving IGBTs with ratings up to 1200 V and 150 A. For IGBTs with higher ratings, the ACPL-333J can be used to drive a discrete power stage that drives the IGBT gate. The ACPL-333J has an insulation voltage of VIORM = 1230 VPEAK.
