Description

The MAX4694EGE is a two-channel, triple/quad buffered video switch and video buffer that combines high-accuracy, unity-gain-stable amplifiers with high-performance video switches. With fast switching time, low differential gain, and phase error, this model is ideal for various video applications, including broadcast-quality color-signal multiplexing, RGB multiplexing, RGB color video overlay editors, RGB color video security systems, RGB medical imaging, and coaxial-cable line drivers. The device operates with a ±5V supply and supports inputs and outputs as high as ±2.5V when driving 150Ω loads (75Ω back-terminated cable). It has a small input capacitance of 5pF and achieves excellent channel-to-channel crosstalk of better than 60dB thanks to the AC ground pins surrounding all inputs. The on-board amplifiers feature a 200V/µs slew rate and a bandwidth of 100MHz. Channel selection can be controlled via a single TTL-compatible input pin or a microprocessor interface, with a channel switch time of only 20ns. The MAX4694EGE is designed for flexibility, offering options for buffer amplifier gains of 1V/V or 2V/V for 75Ω back-terminated applications. The output amplifiers have a guaranteed output swing of ±2V into 75Ω.
