Electronic Component Model: BCM57780A1KMLG is a high-performance 8/4-port SATA-I ← → PCI-X® controller. It is an industry's first 0.13µ CMOS SATA-I controller with 8 (BCM5770) and 4 (BCM5770R) ports. It features an integrated high-performance 1.5G SATA PHY and enhanced support for driving backplanes. The host interfaces include PCI-X 1.0 66, 100, and 133 MHz, as well as PCI 2.3 32-bit and 64-bit interfaces. The controller utilizes a high-performance QDMA™ engine to lower CPU utilization, increase IOPS, and improve throughput. It also has ultra-deep command queues for command queuing, 256 independent command queue entries per port, and independent scatter gather DMA engines. The controller supports advanced interrupt coalescing algorithms, automatic status block update, and hot-plug support. It is available in 8-port and 4-port versions, both of which are pin-compatible and packaged in 324 P-BGA packages. The maximum power consumption is 1.68W for BCM5770 and 1.36W for BCM5770R. It has driver support for Windows® and Linux® operating systems.
