Description
The TCA9517DGKR is an I2C and SMBus bidirectional buffer with level changing capabilities. It can translate bidirectional voltage levels (uptranslation/downtranslation) between low voltages (down to 0.9 V) and higher voltages (2.7 V to 5.5 V) and is ideal for mixed-mode applications. This device allows I2C and SMBus systems to be extended without performance deterioration, even during level shifting. The TCA9517DGKR buffers both SDA and SCL signals on the I2C bus, allowing two buses with bus capacitances of up to 400 pF to be linked in an I2C application. It has A-side and B-side drivers which are over-voltage tolerant to 5.5 V and the device can accommodate standard mode and fast mode I2C devices and multiple masters.
