The Texas Instruments TPS2052BDGN is a low-side USB Power Switch designed to provide simple power management of USB devices. It provides overcurrent protection and thermal protection while monitoring load current accurate to within 1%. The device can also control a system power switch as well as detect logic level power distribution lines in order to ensure that power is never delivered to an unpowered host port. The device also provides four GPIO pins for other system functions, eliminating the need for an external power controller.
