LD1117S33TR Description
The LD1117 is a low drop voltage regulator that can deliver up to 800 mA of output current and is even available in an adjustable form (VREF = 1.25 V). In terms of fixed versions, the following output voltages are available: 1.2 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 2.85 V, 3.3 V, and 5.0 V. The device is available in the following sizes: SOT-223, DPAK, SO-8, and TO-220. The SOT-223 and DPAK surface mount packages maximize thermal properties while also reducing space. The NPN pass transistor ensures high efficiency. In fact, unlike in PNP, the quiescent current flows primarily into the load in this situation. For stability, only a common 10 F minimum capacitor is required. On-chip trimming enables the regulator to achieve a very tight output voltage tolerance of less than 1% at 25 °C. The LD1117 adjustable is pin-to-pin compatible with the other standard. Adjustable voltage regulators provide superior drop and tolerance performance.
