Description
The TPS62840 is a high-efficiency step-down converter with a typical quiescent current of 60 nA. To further extend battery life near the end of discharge, the gadget contains special circuitry that achieves only 120 nA IQ in 100 percent mode.
The gadget powers radios cleanly using DCS-Control and has a typical switching frequency of 1.8 MHz. The device extends the light load efficiency down to a load current range of 1 A and below in Power-Save Mode.
By attaching a resistor to pin VSET, you can select one of 16 predefined output voltages, making the device versatile for a variety of applications while requiring few other components.
The device's STOP pin instantaneously eliminates any switching noise, allowing for noise-free measurements in test and measurement systems.
The TPS62840 has a maximum output current of 750 mA. With an input voltage range of 1.8 V to 6.5 V, the device is compatible with a variety of power sources, including 2S to 4S Alkaline, 1S to 2S Li-MnO2, and 1S Li-Ion/LiSOCl2.
