Texas Instruments' CDC318ADLR is an integrated circuit designed specifically for high-power, high-performance automotive, industrial, and commercial applications. This two-phase motor control switch incorporates several features such as adjustable voltage feedback, control interface and protection detections that make it ideal for higher-power applications. TI’s CDC318ADLR also features several adaptive, adaptive-ratio, and all-digital fault protections that provide better than 1% line accuracy and surge immunity. The circuit also pairs an advanced digital control with temperature and current sensing capabilities, to ensure stability and precise control of switching frequencies. With a maximum power RMS rating of 500KW, the CDC318ADLR is designed to handle both starter and generator applications. It also provides over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature, and over-load protection, and delivers outstanding dynamic response and load survivability.
