The STMicroelectronics L7981TR is a compact, high-efficiency switching voltage regulator designed to support a wide range of applications. It offers precise control and low-noise operation without the need for a heavy heatsink. The integrated voltage reference, enable pin, and trimming function enable precise setup. Built-in current limitation and thermal protection minimize component stress and minimize component count. It also offers several different operating modes for maximum efficiency and low noise operation. It can provide up to 5A of continuous output current and up to 40A of peak output current, making it suitable for both power-supply and battery-management applications. Additionally, the L7981TR is highly integrated with an adjustable soft-start function, adjustable UVLO threshold and hysteresis, frequency synchronization, and peak current limiting.
