The Texas Instruments BQ24292IRGER is a synchronous battery charger, optimized to charge 5-cell Li-ion/Li-poly/LiFePO4 battery packs for high-end portable applications. The device can deliver up to 2A of output current and includes a unique extend charge protection circuit. The BQ24292IRGER includes a precision analog-to-digital converter and communicates with the other system components through an I2C interface. It has an input acceptable voltage range of 4.5V to 18V and input current limit up to 4.5A. The BQ24292IRGER offers additional features such as an integrated NTC thermistor, extended timer, and system status feedback.
