Texas Instruments' TPA701DRG4 is a step-down switching regulator designed to operate from a 5-V input supply. The regulator offers a wide input voltage range of 4.5 V to 20 V and can provide an adjustable output voltage of 0.8 V to 4.5 V with currents up to 4 A. The TPA701DRG4 switching regulator features a unique constant frequency peak current-mode control scheme that ensures robust load transient response and precise output voltage regulation. The device's integrated temperature protection circuitry protects against excessive junction temperature, ensuring that the maximum junction temperature is not exceeded. Additionally, the device offers input undervoltage lockout, allowing lossless on/off control of the regulator. The TPA701DRG4 switching regulator is housed in the 5-pin PowerPAD™ package and is optimized for space- constrained applications. It is ideal for network infrastructure, medical, industrial, and automotive applications.
