The Texas Instruments CD74AC161M96 is a high performance, low-power CMOS octal counter featuring 4-bit binary synchronous parallel-loadable up/down counters. This device features synchronous counting and loading, input gating and output control. The device also offers 16-bit binary synchronous loading capabilities and transparent operation allowing objects to be loaded with multiplexed inputs. The counter can be used to count binary or BCD data and can be used to count up or down. The fast propagation delays, low power consumption and capabilities make the CD74AC161M96 ideal for high speed counting, timing, or frequency divider applications.
