The CD4517BE is a CMOS integrated circuit designed and manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is a dual BCD Up/Down counter with a latch/decoder. The design incorporates two 4-bit synchronous up/down counters, a latch and an output decoder that provides an active low output on one of ten select lines. It is capable of synchronous parallel up/down counting, using the up/down input signal and /load signal. The state of the inputs determine the direction of the count, either up or down. The latch stores the count and the decoder provides a BCD code on its outputs. The CD4517BE is a versatile device and can be used in a variety of applications, including frequency dividers, display outputs, and input control applications. It is also useful in digital control circuits and as a digital-to-analog switch. In addition, the device is available in multiple packages and is rated for operation from -55°C to 125°C.
