The Texas Instruments BQ26100DRPR is a very low chip-level linear charge and alternating current (AC) Li-ion battery management system-on-chip (BMS-on- Chip). It offers innovative features such as adaptive charge current, ultra- low current consumption, cell balancing, and safety algorithms to meet the stringent requirements of portable devices. The device is designed to scale from small, twocell Li-Ion batteries to large, eight-cell Li-Ion battery packs, making it ideal for a variety of consumer electronic applications such as smart phones, tablets, digital cameras, and wearable devices. The BQ26100DRPR is a highly integrated and programmable solution that can charge two to eightcell Li-Ion/Li-Polymer batteries with a maximum voltage of 4.3V per cell. The device provides up to 600mA charge current and up to 100mA discharge current. It also offers advanced safety features such as short- circuit and over-voltage protection, thermal regulation, and cell balancing that protect the battery and its system from potential damage. The device also includes a programmable power-path management system that allows the system to operate at peak performance while optimizing efficiency. Additionally, the device includes a programmable GPIO pin, enabling integration of smart battery control functions. The BQ26100DRPR is available in a small, 14-pin TSSOP package.
