The NCV7520 programmable six-channel low-side MOSFET pre-driver is a FLEXMOS automotive-grade product family for driving logic-level MOSFETs that can be controlled by a combination of serial SPI and parallel inputs. The device provides 3.3 V/5 V compatible inputs and the serial output driver can be powered based on either 3.3 V or 5 V. The reset input allows for external reinitialization, and the enable input allows for simultaneous disabling of all outputs and diagnostics. Each channel independently monitors its external MOSFET's leakage voltage for fault conditions. Short-circuit load fault detection thresholds are fully programmable using a combination of externally programmed reference voltages and discrete internal ratios. These ratios can be selected via SPI, allowing different detection thresholds to be set for each channel. Fault recovery for each channel is programmable, with the option of latch-off or automatic retry. The status information for each trench is 3 bits of fault type code and is provided via SPI communication.The FLEXMOS family offers application scalability with the option of an external MOSFET.
