Power Switch The Texas Instruments TPS2065D Power Switch is an ultra-small and low-power, single-channel low-side power switch that provides basic current limiting and thermal shutdown protection for a wide range of applications. Featuring an adjustable current limit, the device allows designers to optimally protect their system while providing superior ramp characteristics and low shutdown current during overloads. The device is available in the 3 mm2 SOT-23-6, 5 mm2 MSOP-10 and the 5 mm2 ThinSOT™ packages. The TPS2065D performs fast, safe shutdowns when voltage or current overloads occur. It features adjustable current limit to ensure safe operation in both normal and overloaded conditions, and an active low thermal shutdown signal to prevent catastrophic system failure. Key features also include an input voltage range from 1.4V to 5.5V, a 0.4V to 2.4V logic level input tolerance and a 1.085A current limit. The device is designed to drive external N-channel MOSFETs for lowest component count, superior thermal performance and lowest cost implementations.
