The Texas Instruments TPS2350PWR is a high-efficiency, low-cost, single- package PoE (Power over Ethernet) (IEEE 802.3at) compliant power solution. It is an integrated switched-mode power supply (SMPS) and linear regulator (L-REG) controller, providing 24V/0.5A with low auxilliary voltage ripple. The patent-pending adaptive constant active peak power reduces component count, simplifies layout and design effort, and provides high peak power capability. This solution provides system flexibility, allowing the configuration of multiple PoE ports, even with low-power devices in the same PoE load-line. The device also features two flexible I2C control modes for programming, configuration and diagnostics. The device has an integrated power monitoring and fault-detection capability and it is pin compatible with the TPS2300, providing an easy upgrade path. It also offers flexible power management, including pulse skipped mode and burst mode. It is suitable for various industrial and consumer PoE applications, including VoIP, automation and digital video surveillance.
