The Texas Instruments LM117K is a positive linear voltage regulator designed to provide a regulated current output of up to 1.5A of output current over a wide input voltage range. It has been designed to provide low noise and adjustable output voltage, which is adjustable within the range of 1.2V to 37V. It is virtually load and line regulation, and has an integrated thermal- shutdown feature as well as protected against current overloads and short- circuits. Additionally, it has an ultra-low dropout voltage and can operate with an input voltage up to 40V. The device is protected against both surges and reverse-voltage conditions, and offers an adjustable current limit. This device is designed to be used in a variety of industrial and consumer applications including power supplies, motor controllers, and battery chargers.
