The Texas Instruments TLC5923DAPR is an integrated circuit (IC) designed to drive light-emitting diode (LED) applications. It is a 16-Output LED Driver, capable of driving up to 16 LEDs at peak currents of 5mA per LED. This driver circuit is highly efficient and can provide current-regulated LED dimming. The TLC5923DAPR also supports independent channel color mixing and brightness control, which allows for convenient color mixing for applications like backlighting of LCDs and gaming consoles. Additionally, the device features an integrated low-dropout (LDO) regulator and a wide input operating range from 2.7V to 5.5V. The integration of the LDO regulator simplifies complicated designs and requires fewer external components, simplifying the design process. Furthermore, the TLC5923DAPR includes output fault detection and shutdown as well as dimming support up to low values at 5mA and built-in-over temperature protection, making it a reliable and high-performance product.
