The Texas Instruments UC3708N is a step-down voltage regulator that allows a variety of output voltages from 1.5 to 80 volts. It has a maximum output current of 380mA and an adjustable switching frequency for improved stability, allowing for more efficient power delivery. The UC3708N powers itself from a low voltage supply and can handle power up to 6 watts, making it a versatile regulator for different applications. The device also features a slew rate limit with a maximum of 3000V/ms and a wide input voltage range of 3-36V. It has disable/enable pins for direct control and optional current limiting that allows for improved load protection. The UC3708N also has a low quiescent current, thermal shutdown and an adjustable peak current limit to assist in managing stored energy during the power cycle.
